Central Indiana Communications Veteran, Patricia Pickett, Launches Firm

Pickett & Associates to offer strategic public relations counsel to small businesses, non-profit organizations and municipalities.

With more than 25 years of experience in the communications industry, Patricia J. Pickett recently launched Pickett & Associates, specializing in strategic public relations counsel for small businesses, non-profit organizations and municipalities.

Pickett’s previous experience includes leadership positions with several local publications as well as public relations firms.

A member of the Public Relations Society of America, Pickett is in the process of becoming Accredited in Public Relations (APR), a mark of distinction for public relations professionals who demonstrate their commitment to the profession and to its ethical practice, and who are selected based on broad knowledge, strategic perspective, and sound professional judgment. It is a designation achieved by only one-fifth of all public relations professionals.

Graduating cum laude from Butler University with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism, Pickett plans to offer strategic public relations services including media relations and social media management.

“I am anxious to work closely with entrepreneurs and organizations in assisting them develop strategic, measurable communications plans that align closely with their mission and ultimately facilitate success,” Pickett said. “As we emerge from a down economy, measurable return on investment has never been more important. That measurement cannot be accomplished without a solid public relations strategy, complete with both research and evaluation.”
