When I launched Pickett and Associates, LLC in 2010, it was not a long-planned strategic effort. To the contrary, as you can read in the July 2010 posts, it was a knee-jerk reaction to being downsized from an organization; I had a dire and immediate need to pay my mortgage and car payment. I pulled out the $8000 from my IRA, put the head down and hustled to get clients. Part of the hustle was letting everyone know I was 1) available to work and 2) had a modicum of expertise in public relations and general marketing.

This is the content that helped me navigate those early years and build what I believe has been a successful business venture that has supported numerous women (and a few good men) in their pursuit of a more flexible way to earn a living. Cheers to these early years, when I was counting on good karma and 30 years of experience as a communications professional.
